The fertile valley of the
River Save has probably changed little since Wellington's army is believed to have
marched along what is now the D17 on its way to the Battle of Toulouse. Had the
soldiers stopped near Anan, they would have found peace and quiet at the secluded
Moulin de Samaran.
Mostly re-built during the
1990s, the Moulin is now a beautiful watermill with wheel room, tranquil millpond,
swimming pool, sauna and its own river island. Nestling on the banks of the River Save
and situated in 22 acres of private woodland and meadow, plus a small formal garden,
the Moulin is located 4.5 km from the town of L'Isle-en-Dodon and is one hour's drive
south west of Toulouse.
Managed by the resident
owners, Moulin de Samaran offers four unique properties for holiday rental, weekend
breaks and longer lets throughout the year. It is the perfect location for either a
peaceful "do nothing" holiday, or as an ideal base to explore the sights,
history and gastronomy on offer throughout the Midi-Pyrénées.
