Chevalet Cottage - holiday cottage/gite accommodation, Anan,
L'isle-en-dodon, Haute-Garonne near Toulouse South West France.
The greater part of the Domaine de Samaran is the Isle de Samaran, a river island
created by the River Save on one side and the mill leat on the other. Chevalet
is on the island side of the main millhouse and is approached over the bridge from the
main drive.
The outer front door serves both Chevalet and Figuier via the
staircase to the top floor. Chevalet's front door opens off the main hall and
leads into the fully fitted kitchen and dining room. The spiral staircase in the
corner goes up to the sitting room which also has its own front door onto the first
floor landing. Those of a theatrical bent could easily re-enact one of the old
Whitehall farces, using all the stairs and doors!
The sitting room has views over the millpond, river and distant hills to the south.
A short passage leads to the two bedrooms - 1 double and 1 twin, each with en-suite
shower rooms. Furnished in a modern style, with original works of art and antique
prints on the walls, Chevalet is a quiet little corner of France in which to
totally relax.
